A BADGE AND A CROWN

When a king has a son, he calls his son a prince, which means first. The son is first in line to be king when his father dies. But, if a king wants his son to be king while the king is still alive, the king must take his son out of his domain or territory and place his son in a foreign territory. The father can now make his son king over the foreign territory. Because the father has now established another king, this makes the father, King of Kings. With this said, God is King and we are His children, created in His likeness and image. Because God, our Father and King will never die, if we stayed with Him, in heaven, we could never reign as kings. So, God took us out of His territory, which is Heaven, and placed us in a foreign territory, which is the earth. Then He tells us to be fruitful, multiply and take dominion over the earth. Because our Father established us as kings of the earth, this makes Him King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Even when Jesus walked the earth, He was referred to as "King" because He was not in the Father's territory. But, when He was crucified, died, and then rose from the dead and returned back to the right hand of the Father, in heaven, He was referred to as the "Prince" of peace. Why? When a king returns home to his fathers territory, he is no longer a king, he becomes a prince again. There can only be one king in a domain.As police officers, who are the sons and daughters of a King, from a foreign territory, we bring Kingdom authority into the world of law enforcement. It is an honor to wear the badge of authority, but, it is a greater honor to wear the crown of a king.

THE ORIGINAL BLUEPRINT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT!

I encourage all law enforcement to read Romans chapter 13 and ask God for understanding. This is the original blueprint for law enforcement. Just like anything else, the finished product should resemble it's blueprint. I spoke about Romans 13, just a little, in my last posted blog entitled, "What are your thoughts on this?" Please feel free to read it and leave a comment. God is up to something in law enforcement!

What are your thoughts on this?

In Romans chapter 13, (The Message Version) the Bible explains to us, as police, where our authority comes from and how we should use it. But, one thing sticks out in this chapter that really makes me think. It says that good citizens should not be afraid of the police, but, those that break the law had better "watch out." Is it just me, or, are things backwards, in the times that we currently live in. It seems like good citizens are afraid of many police officers and the criminals appear to have no fear, nor respect for police. Why is this? Well, the Bible goes on to say that all governments are under God, as long as there is "peace and order." In many police departments, worldwide, it appears that there is no peace within. There is a lot of back stabbing, power struggles, insubordination, no loyalty, and a lack of adherence to protocol. Most police have gone from being public servants to being self servants, to include police leadership. An "all about me" phase. The word servant can be evenly exchanged with the word, minister. Ministers are considered servants. So, in Romans 13, if God calls police officers "His ministers" (KJV) or "His servants" (Contemporary English Version), where is the public ministry or the public service? It is impossible to enforce the law effectively and to maintain order in a city or municipality, if there is no order, accountability, peace, integrity, loyalty, adherence to protocol, nor unity, in the department. Most important of all, there must be an understanding in regards to what a police officer is, what a police officer does, and where their true authority comes from. I would encourage police officers, worldwide, to read and understand Romans chapter 13. Understanding your divine position of authority will change your method of policing. It changed mine. Psalm 127 states that unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain. Who are the watchmen (not just the police) and is anyone else out there tired of standing guard and watching in vain? Many leaders are pleading to the public for help in reducing crime in their cities. Why consult the ones that you are supposed to protect and serve, instead of consulting the very One who gives you your authority in the first place? God establishes laws and He uses police officers to enforce them, because He is a God of law and order. It should be a privilege and an honor to serve within His rank and file! What are your thoughts on this?

Ready for surgery.

I undergo reconstructive surgery on my right ankle tomorrow from my line of duty injury. I believe that all will go well. God will guide the hand of the surgeon and I'm trusting Him for a complete and speedy recovery. So, if I don't blog tomorrow, that means that I'm still under the influence of the pain medication. Update on my first book signing.

My first book signing went great! The best part of all was the fact that my family showed up in full force. I had family from Maryland as well as North Carolina there to support me. On the outside, everyone could see my smile, but, on the inside, my spirit was leaping with limitless joy! Let me tell you why. Sometimes we have a need or a hunger that we sometimes can't identify. All we know is that something is missing. Well, I had a hunger and I was fed until I couldn't take anymore. That hunger was "fellowship." There is nothing like fellowship. Have you ever tasted a certain food and as soon as it touched your taste buds, you were reminded of how much you missed it. It tasted so good that it made you reminisce about old times. You begin to smile and maybe even started to dance a little bit. Well, that's how I felt today. Oh, by the way, I sold some books, too. I almost forgot about that part. I got caught up in all of the loooove! I would like to thank my co-workers, Baltimore's Finest, for supporting me. I would also like to thank my former commander, but, present friend and mentor Neil Franklin for once again supporting me in one of my many endeavors. What more can I ask for? I don't know if I can handle Volume 2. Just kidding. If you know me, you know that volume 2 is already on the way. I keep trying to tell people that God is up to something in law enforcement! Stay tuned! One last thing. I would like to say Happy Birthday to my brother Curtis!!! He's also a new daddy, too!!! If anybody out there needs a part-time job, I think my brother is hiring. He's looking for an on- call PCE. "Pamper Changing Engineer." Ha Ha

First Blog Talk Show Segment

I hosted my first live blog talk show today. To be honest, I was very nervous. I thought about cancelling or rescheduling the show at least 6 times between yesterday and 45 seconds to airtime this morning. But, I prayed, and I put it in God's hands. Once I began to talk, I started to get comfortable and before long, I felt like an old pro. (not quite) When I finished the show, which was simply a 15 minute introduction and promotional spot for my new book, "Shift Change," I was so glad that I didn't cancel. I kept telling myself that God has not given me the spirit of fear, over and over and over again. It was fun. I'm sure I'll generate some nice blooper material, but, I'm convinced that I'll get better with time. I look forward to sharing what God has placed in my heart for law enforcement, worldwide. Preparation For Duty

This is how I prepare for duty. "As God's official law enforcement agent, I come in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I decree and I declare that in this battle, no weapon formed against me or my co-workers shall prosper. Father, train me to have sniper-like accuracy in the spirit. Let every word that I speak right now take on the characteristics of divine projectiles in the realm of the spirit and let each one hit it's target center mass! Father, let every diabolical covert operation, ambush, tactic and maneuver against law enforcement fail, in Jesus' name! Lord, I establish divine boundaries and perimeters around my assigned post and in the name of Jesus, I shut down, cancel, nullify and veto all unlawful plots, plans, ploys, and strategies within these boundaries. I seal this prayer in Jesus' name. Amen!"

Obedience saved my life!

One night, there was a shooting in my sector. Because I wasn't the primary investigating officer, I had to secure the crime scene. My patrol car was parked in the middle of the street with the strobe lights flashing. All of a sudden, I felt a strong desire to praise God. Now mind you, I'm standing in the middle of the street in full uniform. I thought to myself, "How am I gonna look standing with my hands lifted up to the Lord, in the middle of a crime scene?" Then the Lord said, "Get in the car, now, and praise Me!" So, I got into my car and I began to praise my Lord and after about 30 seconds, 8 gunshots rang out! I saw people running. No one got hurt. Thank God! I initially thought that this may have been the reason that God had me praising Him. I could have been interceding for someone who was about to get shot. Suddenly, 2 undercover officers walked over to me and one of them said, "Officer Fields, a citizen said that a car stopped in the intersection two blocks away from here and a man got out of the car and began to shoot at you." "Shoot at me!" I thought. As the officers drove away, I looked toward heaven and a tear rolled down my face. It finally made sense. Had I not obeyed the Lord by getting into my car when He told me to, even when it didn't make sense, I could have been killed. I didn't even know that I was in danger, but, God knew! Obedience saved my life!!!

SEPTEMBER 11TH PRAYER

LORD, I THANK YOU FOR YOUR MERCY AND YOUR GRACE. I'M SIMPLY IN AWE OF YOU. FATHER, I DECREE AND I DECLARE THAT HURT AND SORROW ARE FAR FROM THE FAMILIES OF OUR FALLEN HEROS AS WE APPROACH THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE SEPTEMBER 11 TRAGEDY. I PROHIBIT THE ENEMY FROM OPERATING THROUGH OR INFLUENCING THE MIND OR SOUL OF ANYONE THAT COMES INTO CONTACT WITH ANY FAMILY MEMBER OF OUR FALLEN HEROES. EXPEDITE THE HEALING PROCESS IN JESUS NAME! LORD, I SUPERIMPOSE PEACEFUL THINKING OVER EVERY THOUGHT OF HATE AND REVENGE, BECAUSE, YOUR WORD SAYS THAT VENGEANCE IS YOURS! ANGELS, EXCEL IN STRENGTH , NOW! COMFORT THOSE THAT NEED TO BE COMFORTED. ENCOURAGE THOSE THAT NEED TO BE ENCOURAGED. SPEAK LIFE TO THOSE WHO DESIRE TO GIVE UP. LORD, LET EVERY DIABOLICAL COVERT OPERATION AGAINST YOUR PEOPLE BE MADE OVERT, EASILY IDENTIFIABLE, AND DOWNLOAD INTO LAW ENFORCEMENT LEADERSHIP, DIVINE TACTICAL COUNTER MEASURES AND PROVIDE UNEXPECTED INTELLIGENCE FROM UNEXPECTED SOURCES. I NULLIFY, VETO AND CANCEL EVERY FUTURE DIABOLICAL PLAN OF THE ENEMY TO ATTACK OUR COUNTRY, AND I DECREE AND DECLARE THAT EVERY PLOT, PLOY, TACTIC AND MANEUVER LAUNCHED AGAINST OUR COUNTRY FAIL, IN JESUS NAME! LORD, SMOKE OUT EVERY AGENT OF DARKNESS WHO HAS INFILTRATED LAW ENFORCEMENT AND ARE HANDING OUR STRATEGIES AND PLANS OVER TO THE ENEMY. CAUSE THEM TO BE CONFUSED, LET THEM TURN ON EACH OTHER, AND LET THEIR PLANS FAIL, IN JESUS NAME! I DECREE AND DECLARE THAT THIS SEPTEMBER 11 BE A TIME TO REJOICE AND NOT A TIME TO CRY. A TIME TO LOVE AND NOT A TIME TO HATE. A TIME TO BOND AND NOT A TIME TO BREAK. FATHER, STRENGTHEN YOUR PEOPLE, LOVE ON YOUR PEOPLE, COMFORT YOUR PEOPLE, SPEAK TO YOUR PEOPLE. KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, BE GLORIFIED AND MAKE YOUR PRESENCE KNOWN. I SEAL THIS PRAYER IN JESUS NAME. AMEN.

Good Leader / Poor Leader

There are two types of leaders. Good leaders and poor leaders. Unfortunately, in order to become successful, you need them both. The "good leaders" builds your character. They encourage you to do your best. They make you feel as though you are apart of something great. You don't mind going above and beyond your regular duties for them. Your performance is enhanced. You begin to model yourself after them. You would follow them into battle without question. You defend them when someone says something negative about them. You can't imagine working for anyone else! Suddenly, this good leader gets promoted and he/she is replaced by a "poor leader". The poor leader is unorganized and late for work. They talk down to you. You are required to do your job and their job as well. You're made to feel like nothing that you do is right. The atmosphere at work is filled with tension and sarcasm and you struggle with wanting to find another place to work, but, for some strange reason, you decide to stay and persevere. Why? It's only a test. The good leader helped to build your character. The poor leader tests your character! It's easy to submit to the authority of someone that you respect. How hard is it to submit to someone who you despise and have no respect for at all? It's easy to stay focused and keep your joy with someone who encourages you. It's hard to stay focused and keep your joy with a leader who talks down to you and frustrates you to no end. Just know that all leadership comes from God. You need both types of leaders in your life in order for you to reach your full potential. Remember, even in school, graduation or promotion always came after you had successfully passed the test. Stop focusing on the person. Focus on your season. What season are you in? Are you in a season of being built or are you in a season of being tested? If you can accurately discern your current season, you will respond completely different. That poor leader is going to be a thorn in your side until you pass "the test." God sees everything that the poor leader is doing and is allowing it to happen, because, it's vital to your development and your purpose. When you finally pass "the test" you will either get some form of promotion, transfer, or that poor leader will be moved to another assignment. Don't focus on what other people do to you. Focus on your response to what other people do to you. That is what causes Heaven to move on your behalf!

Line of Duty Injury

I'm having reconstructive surgery on my right ankle in 2 weeks due to a line of duty injury. I was told that I would have about 85% mobility in that ankle after the surgery and physical therapy. That's not acceptable! I don't think that the doctors know the God that I serve and how healing is apart of His very nature. I decree and declare that my right ankle will function according to God's original design for my skeletal system and I command every bone and piece of cartilage that is out of place to realign itself according to Gods original blueprint for my body. Let it be so, in Jesus name! If you are reading this and you have the time, give me your best prayer in the comments section. God says that if any two gather together in His name, they can ask for anything and It shall done. (I paraphrased it) I'm believing God for 100% recovery, a complete healing, and a speedy recovery. God's not finished with me , yet, in law enforcement! Who said police don't know how to pray?
